Math or Trades Math Assessment

A Math or Trades Math assessment provides a snapshot of your current math skills. You can use this assessment to determine whether you are ready to enter your program of choice, or need some upgrading first.

鱿鱼视频 offers several options for completing a Math assessment. See the descriptions below to determine which option is best for you.

Option A: Assessment & Testing Centre

Select Option A if you have already completed Math 10 but need a higher placement for your program.

This is a computer-based assessment best suited for students who are fairly confident with their math skills. Even if it鈥檚 been a while since you last used math, you believe it would come back to you with a little review.

狈辞迟别:听听Students who are registering for a Trades program (with the exception of Electrical or Fine Furniture) must select the Trades Math assessment.

Option B: Access Assessment

Select Option B if you have not completed Math up to a grade 10 level and would benefit from individualized support while completing your assessment. This assessment is one-to-one with a Camosun instructor.

Note:听 This assessment places up to grade 11 level only.

Option C: Community Learning Partnerships

You can also take a one-to-one assessment through Community Learning Partnerships, which offers classes at community-based sites to make it easier to begin or return to learning.

Select Option C听if you would like to complete your assessment with the any of following partnerships:

  • Bridges for Women Society (Downtown and Westshore locations)
  • Island Community Mental Health, W瘫S脕NE膯 College
  • Victoria Native Friendship Centre
  • Malahat Nation Community

Note:听 This assessment places up to grade 11 level only

Accommodated assessments

If you have a documented disability and need support and accommodations鈥攕uch as adaptive software or a private room鈥攖o complete your assessment, contact Centre for Accessible Learning(CAL) before booking an assessment. They will help ensure you are met with the appropriate supports.

If you only require extra time or need to complete the assessment across multiple sessions, you can e-mail assessment@camosun.ca to adjust your appointment.
